No, we do not receive any commission from tips that pass through our system, and we never will. All of the fees come directly from the payment processors.
Does Twitch tax your donations?
Yes, Twitch donations are taxable. However, if you can’t make any money from Twitch (for example, because you have no subscribers), you are still able to accept donations.
Is it better to donate bits or money?
Note that bits are generally more secure when streamed live than when donated directly to a streamer. The advantage of direct donations is that they have a high payout ratio, but there have been cases where PayPal donations were able to be refunded, which can make it frustrating for streamers.
How much does Twitch keep from donations?
PayPal Giving Fund donates 99% of the donations it receives to charity, minus payment processing fees. According to Twitch’s policy, your entire donation is sent to the charity, minus whatever PayPal Giving Fund charges.
What percentage do Twitch take?
50% of each subscription payment goes to Twitch Partners, who then divide the money among their streamers. There is also a $9.99 monthly contribution from Twitch, and a $24.99 monthly contribution.
